Congratulations to Cui Xuwei for passing his doctoral dissertation defense and Li Binzhao for passing his master's dissertation defense

Recently, the 2024 graduate thesis defense of the Institute of Micro-Nano Composite Materials of the University of Science and Technology of China was held in the 501 conference room on the fifth floor of the Li Building. Cui Xuwei successfully passed the doctoral thesis defense, and Li Binzhao successfully passed the master's thesis defense. The defense invited academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Peking University Professor Wei Yueguang and Tianjin University Professor Qiu Wei to serve as the chairmen of the defense committee for the two students. Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Wu Xiaoping of the University of Science and Technology of China, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor Xie Yi of the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Li Yuhang of the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor He Linghui of the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Zhu Yanwu, and Professor Zhao Yang were members of the defense committee. Professor Zhang Zhong and Professor Wang Guorui attended the defense meeting as mentors. Doctoral students Wu Xiqi and Zhang Zhao of the research group served as defense secretaries.

Cui Xuwei's defense topic was Research on the Mechanical Behavior of Two-Dimensional Atomic Crystals Based on Micropore Bubbling Technology.

All the defense experts agreed that Cui Xuwei's thesis was well-written, logically clear, fruitful, and innovative. The thesis results showed that the author had mastered a solid and broad theoretical foundation and systematic and in-depth expertise in this field, and had the ability to conduct scientific research independently. During the defense, the statement was clear and the answers to the questions were correct. After a secret ballot by the defense committee, Cui Xuwei's doctoral dissertation defense was unanimously approved, and it was recommended that he be awarded a doctoral degree.
