The launch and implementation plan demonstration meeting of the key special project of the National Key R&D Program

On the morning of November 17, the launch and implementation plan demonstration meeting of the Nano Frontier key special project of the 14th Five-Year Plan National Key R&D Plan, led by the University of Science and Technology of China and jointly undertaken by six units including the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Tsinghua University, Aviation Industry Jinan Special Structure Research Institute, Hefei Aerospace Electrophysics Technology Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd., was held in Beijing. The project targets the major needs of lightning protection, high-energy impact protection, and ice protection in the aerospace field, develops a series of carbon nanocomposite protective materials and technologies, achieves the ultimate structural and functional integrated performance, and meets the extreme service environment requirements of the new generation of protective materials.

The leader of the project launch meeting advisory expert group is Academician Bai Chunli of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The members are Academician Du Shanyi of Harbin Institute of Technology, Academician Fan Shoushan of Tsinghua University, Academician Wang Weihua of the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Zhao Yuliang of the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Academician Wei Yueguang of Peking University, Academician Zhou Youhe of Lanzhou University, Researcher Lu Lei of the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Tian Xingyou of the Hefei Institute of Solid State Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhang Di of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Duan Huiling of Peking University, Chief Engineer Li Dongsheng of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Researcher Zhang Mingxi of Jinan Special Structure Institute, Researcher Zhang Hao of the 306th Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, Professor Wu Hengan and Professor Zhu Yanwu of the University of Science and Technology of China, etc.

The launch meeting was hosted by the project leader, Professor Zhang Zhong of the University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Sha Rui, the project supervisor of the High Technology Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the project supervisor, first delivered a speech. He affirmed the precise layout of the project aimed at the major demand for a new generation of protective materials in my country's aerospace field. Researcher Wei Zhixiang, Deputy Director of the Frontier Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Xue Yongquan, Director of the Major Tasks Department of the University of Science and Technology of China, delivered speeches on behalf of the project recommendation unit and the supporting unit, respectively, expressing their affirmation and support for the project. Professor Xue Yongquan particularly emphasized that the University of Science and Technology of China, as the project undertaking unit, will fully support the implementation of the project and fulfill the responsibilities of the legal person unit.


Project Team Report


Project responsible experts Researcher Lu Lei and Researcher Tian Xingyou hosted the report session. Professor Zhang Zhong reported on the overall situation and research progress on behalf of the project team. The project leaders, Tang Zhiyong, Director of the National Nanotechnology Center, Xu Zhiping, Professor of Tsinghua University, Wang Zhiqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Jinan Special Structure Institute, and Zhang Zhong, Professor, respectively reported on the implementation plan and research progress of the projects Design and Experimental Analysis of Carbon Nanocomposites, Structure-Effect Theory of Carbon Nanocomposites and Prediction Model of Service Performance, Analysis of Key Application Protection Performance Requirements and Preparation of Carbon Nanocomposites Structural Parts, and Analysis of Extreme Environment Protection Mechanism, Detection Technology and Performance Evaluation.


Academician Bai Chunli presided over the expert questioning and comment session. The experts at the meeting fully affirmed the importance and cutting-edge nature of the project, put forward valuable constructive opinions and suggestions, and had heated discussions and exchanges with the project team members. The expert group emphasized that the various projects should work closely together, keep in mind the original intention of the project, and truly face the national needs to solve key scientific problems.
