Personnel Training

The research team focuses on all-round education, respects students' interests and aspirations, stimulates their potential, and tailors training programs for each student. One doctoral graduate has won the Outstanding Award from the President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and one Outstanding PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In the past five years, three graduate students have received national scholarships. Research and application of nanocomposites with integrated structure and function

Carry out basic and applied research on nanocomposites with integrated structure and function, give full play to the advantages of material design, build multi-level structures, realize integrated structure and function design, and promote the development and application of high-performance nanocomposites, including ultra-black materials, extreme environment protection materials such as lightning strikes and high-energy impact, etc., facing major needs and application goals such as aerospace and deep space exploration.

 

The Institute is an innovative and internationally competitive research team led by 4 teachers including National Outstanding Young Scholars and Excellent Young Scholars (Overseas). Based in the School of Engineering Science of USTC, the Institute conducts research based on large scientific facilities such as the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. It has built a complete set of experimental equipment for the preparation and characterization of micro-nano composite materials on the 4th floor of the 5th building in the West District. Subject background: Materials science (composite materials), engineering science, mechanics, machinery, optics, physics, etc.

Specific requirements: (1) Excellent in both moral character and academics, and passionate about education and scientific research; (2) Possess a doctorate degree in materials (composite materials), mechanics, machinery, optics, physics and other related disciplines, have a solid professional theoretical foundation, have received good experimental skills training, have strong hands-on ability, and have published academic papers in journals in related fields; (3) Possess strong scientific research ability and academic development potential, have a good team spirit, and be diligent and down-to-earth.

Related positions and benefits

USTC has specially established the 'Mozi Outstanding Young Special Allowance' to recruit young talents from home and abroad to join the contract-based scientific research team. The annual salary of the selected candidates can exceed 400,000 yuan.

 

A. Specially appointed associate researcher/Specially appointed senior engineer Requirements: (1) Age not exceeding 45 years old; (2) Applicants holding intermediate or above professional and technical positions in famous domestic universities or research institutions, or outstanding postdoctoral fellows; Outstanding doctoral graduates from famous foreign universities with outstanding performance.

    Term of employment: The maximum contract period is 3 years and can be renewed once.

    Benefits: Basic annual salary of 230,000 yuan (including five social insurances and one housing fund in Hefei) and no upper limit on platform support. First-class funding of the school's 'Mozi Outstanding Youth Special Allowance' with an annual salary of 370,000 yuan or more; or second-class funding with an annual salary of 270,000 yuan or more.

    Assessment method: Special annual assessment, assessment at the end of the employment period. Those who perform well in the annual assessment (about 30% of all assessed personnel) will receive a reward of 20,000 yuan; those who perform exceptionally well in the annual assessment (about 5% of all assessed personnel) will receive another one-time reward of 50,000 yuan.

    Incentive measures: If you are selected into the 'Yangtze River Scholars Award Program' of the Ministry of Education during the appointment period, or receive the 'National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund', you can be transferred to professor; if you receive the national youth talent project, you can be transferred to a fixed-term professor.

     

    B. Postdoctoral fellow

    Requirements: (1) Pass the doctoral dissertation defense; (2) Be no older than 35 years old.

    Term of employment: The maximum term of the contract is 3 years. (If the employee leaves the station before the end of the term, the term of employment will be deemed to have ended early and the benefits will stop.) The employee can be renewed once.

    Benefits: Basic annual salary of 200,000 yuan (including five social insurances and one housing fund in Hefei) and no upper limit on platform support. First-class funding of the school's 'Mozi Outstanding Youth Special Allowance' with an annual salary of 350,000 yuan or more; or second-class funding with an annual salary of 250,000 yuan or more.

    Assessment method: special annual assessment, assessment at the end of the employment period. Those with excellent annual assessment (accounting for about 30% of all assessed personnel) will receive a reward of 20,000 yuan; those with exceptional annual assessment (accounting for about 5% of all assessed personnel) will receive another one-time reward of 50,000 yuan.

    Reward method: If you obtain a national youth talent project during the appointment period, you can be transferred to a fixed-term professor.
