Liu Guo is currently a Specially Appointed Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the University of Science and Technology of China. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2013 and his Ph.D. from City University of Hong Kong in 2018 (Supervisor:Academician Jian LU). After that, he engaged in postdoctoral research at City University of Hong Kong, leading the Hong Kong Research Grants Council Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme. He has been engaged in research related to new materials, new processes, new functions, and new equipment, focusing on the development of 3D/4D additive–subtractive manufacturing technology for nano-composite materials and related new intelligent manufacturing equipment. As the first or corresponding author (including co-authors), he has published papers in journals such as Science Advances, Advanced Materials (Back Cover), Journal of Materials Science and Technology (Cover), Materials Science and Engineering R Reports (ESI highly cited paper), Engineering, Ceramics International, Rare Metals, and Additive Manufacturing Frontiers. He has been granted a series of US and China patents on 2D/3D/4D printing ceramic technology. He was awarded the title of 'Top Ten Emerging Figures in Science and Technology in China,' the 'Outstanding Young Academic Report' at the China Materials Conference and the World Materials Conference, and serves as a young editor of Advanced Powder Materials. His research, published as the sole first author, was selected as one of the 'Top Ten Future Intelligent Manufacturing Technologies of 2019' and was listed by the European Commission as one of the 100 disruptive technologies for the future in the 4D printing case in the book ‘100 Disruptive Innovations for the Future’. The evaluation report pointed out that ‘The world's first ceramic 4D printing technology has been successfully developed, achieving a breakthrough in material research.’ His work has been widely reported by domestic and foreign media such as New Scientist, ScienceDaily, DeepTech, People's Daily (front page), Reference News, XueXiQiangGuo, Xinhua News Agency, Associated Press, and Russia Today. The 4D printed ceramic samples he made were collected by the China 3D Printing Culture Museum.
